Who is überweb?

überweb is Alex Rogers (or vice versa), a freelance web developer from Melbourne who creates beautiful, yet functional web sites and web-based applications.

Born in Adelaide during the 80′s I have always been interested in computers and technology.  Now in my late-twenties, and equipped only with my love of cleanly written code (and an honours degree in computer engineering) I have been programming and developing websites commercially for almost 10 years.

I primarily work with WordPress CMS, applying a liberal dosage of jQuery and HTML5/CSS3 (with graceful degradation and cross-browser compatibility). I’m also proficient at database design and writing well-documented object oriented code.  Although, in this forever changing industry I’m forever picking up new skills like mobile web development and the Zend framework.

I work with small businesses directly as well as in collaboration with design agencies and have a major focus on creating SEO optimised, self-managed, accessible websites.  Besides the graphic design component of a website there is not much I don’t do.

You can see some examples of my work or get in touch if you have any queries.
